At Cultivate’22, we scouted the garden retail tours, workshops and show floor to get a glimpse of the latest plants, designs and showcases. Check out some of the standout signage, whimsical merchandise and artisanal offerings that caught our attention at the annual show in Columbus, Ohio.

Groovy Plants Ranch

1. & 2. Groovy Plants Ranch in Marengo, Ohio, has a big personality, which can be seen throughout the destination garden center in its fun vehicle planters. Known for its unique and rare plant selections, customers travel from hours away for hard-to-find options.

Baker’s Acres Greenhouse & Garden Center

3. & 4. At Baker’s Acres Greenhouse & Garden Center, unique, upbeat signage can be found at every turn when customers wander through the various greenhouses at the Alexandria, Ohio, grower-retailer. Take a look below at some of their coleus and tropical plant varieties.

ZenGenius Marketplace

5. to 7. The ZenGenius Marketplace in Columbus features all kinds of visual merchandising and display ideas. From a selfie station to biophilic designs to themed collections, there was plenty of inspiration.

Aroid Greenhouses

8. The South Florida-based family-owned wholesaler and retail shop, which specializes in rare plants, exotic plants and hoyas, brought the jungle to the show floor with its explosive array of tropical plants. The lush booth was a must-see destination that had attendees buzzing with excitement.

Greendigs Living Design Experience

9. & 10. The Greendigs Living Design Experience is part plant lifestyle shop and part plant store, located in the heart of downtown Columbus. A local artist lends some hometown flair and hand-painted design to the Columbus showroom’s offerings. And plant puzzles, coloring books and more give kids of all ages activities to stay busy.

Richardson’s Greenhouse

11. Located in “The Canoe Capital of the World,” this 79-year-old Ohio garden center is a popular destination spot for campers who vacation along the Mohican River and its surrounding national parks and forests. Rain chains are strung up throughout the garden center, adding a pop of color amongst the greenery of the hanging baskets, annuals and perennials.

Sheiyah Market

12. to 14. Sheiyah Market, a sprawling marketplace with more than 50,000 square feet of retail space and six different departments, is a popular hot spot for horticulture tourism. Located in Berlin, Ohio — the heart of Amish country — tourists flock to its whimsical fairy gardening, water features and houseplant sections.
