The Garden Center Group took us on a tour of garden centers along the Delaware-Pennsylvania border where we picked up some great display ideas and ways to engage customers at the garden center. Take a look at their unique methods of creating atmosphere, solving customers’ problems and connecting outside of the store.

Gateway Garden Center

Hockessin, Delaware
Gateway Garden Center shows shoppers the perfect plant solutions for problem areas in their yards with clear and concise signage.

Terrain at Styer’s

Terrain at Styer’s uses grow lights underneath display tables to increase growing space.

Terrain uses different scents in various sections of its store to create atmosphere. In this instance, an incense stick right in a plant pot welcomes visitors right outside the shop.
Plants that need a little extra TLC are placed on the sale table for those customers who enjoy bringing less-than-perfect plants back to life.
