A native of the southeast United States, Sisyrinchium angustifolium ‘Blue Note’ is noted for its violet-blue flowers and dark green grass-like foliage. It is a clump-forming perennial typically growing from 12 inches to a maximum 20 inches tall. Clusters of violet-blue flowers (to ½ inch across) appear in late spring to early summer. This is an excellent plant for garden borders, and it’s best grown with medium moisture and well-drained soils. Full sun but tolerates light shade. Hardy to Zones 4-9.
