Van Belle Nursery, Inc. has announced that as of April 13, it will be the first company in North America to deliver a live goods program using the new environmentally and socially responsible “Flow Pot” by CTi Plastic, made entirely from recycled plastic collected from river and ocean-bound sources, as well as post-consumer plastic.
“Consumers are looking to us, the suppliers, to take action and offer products that make a real difference in the world,” says Ashley Harrison, Retail Program Specialist at Van Belle Nursery. “CTi is a great Canadian organization that cares about people and the planet just like we do, so I knew if we could weave their innovation into our products, it would excite our team and retail partners—it’s a win all around.”
Getting involved with Flow Pot is yet another example of where priorities lie for Van Belle Nursery. For 2021, they plan to use the Flow Pot material in three additional programs, with the goal of switching most of its plastic containers to Flow Pot or other sustainable materials going forward.
