Visitors to the University of Florida will be able to see the latest poinsettia varieties evaluated in the National Poinsettia Trials along with UF greenhouse research including automated irrigation management and heat delay.
The event takes place at the UF Research Greenhouse Complex at 2475 Memorial Road in Gainesville, Fla. on Dec. 6. The university announced the event in a press release.
Here is the full schedule of events according to a press release:
- 8:30 a.m. to 9:20 a.m.: Registration, walk-through greenhouse
- 9:20 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. : Welcome and introductions
- 9.30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.: Poinsettia cultivar trials (Jim Barrett)
- 11:05 a.m. to 11:50 a.m.: Heat delay and research presentations
- 11:50 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Lunch sponsored by Syngenta OR Commercial breeder presentations by Beekenkamp, Selecta/Ball, Dummen Orange, and Syngenta Flowers
- 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.: Poinsettia cultivar trials repeat presentation (Jim Barrett)
