Terra Nova Nurseries has released a first look at its new agastache, ‘Peach Pearl’.
This perennial features fragrant, peachy-orange flowers. A companion plant for the popular Agastache ‘Pink Pearl’, 'Peach Pearl' shares many of its predecessor’s qualities, including resistance to deer and downy mildew, as well as its effectiveness in attracting hummingbirds and other pollinators.
‘Peach Pearl’ also boasts a fast, upright growth habit and flourishes in full summer sun, with a bloom period from June through October. It's hardy in Zones 6 to 10.
"Agastache ‘Peach Pearl’ brings a fresh and captivating hue to garden beds while maintaining the exceptional qualities that make ‘Pink Pearl’ so beloved," said Chuck Pavlich, director of new product development at Terra Nova Nurseries. "With its vibrant peachy-orange blooms, long-lasting color and remarkable resilience, this latest perennial is sure to become a favorite among gardeners and pollinators alike."
Finishing growers should allow ‘Peach Pearl’ to dry moderately between waterings in the greenhouse. The finish time from a liner to a 4-inch pot is six to eight weeks; the finish time from a liner to a 1-gallon pot is 10 to 12 weeks.
This variety grows most actively in spring, reaching a height of 8 inches, width of 16 inches and flower height of 16 inches.
Terra Nova Nurseries has created a "Plant Profile" page and "Grower Recipe" specific to this new variety and others, so growers interested in orders can learn about growing habits, plant characteristics, fertilization recommendations, water requirements and other insights provided by the breeding team.
