According to a press release, Spring Meadow Nursery has announced that 27 new cultivars of Proven Winners ColorChoice shrubs will be available to growers for the 2020 season.

As a way of introducing a few of these new varieties, Spring Meadow Nursery public relations specialist, Natalie Carmolli, has created a series of seven short videos highlighting 11 of the new cultivars. The videos are under a minute long and give viewers a brief introduction to each new ornamental shrub, much like they would get when attending the California Spring Trials (CAST), but from the comfort and convenience of their own home or office. “Even though Proven Winners will not be at CAST, I wanted to make sure that members of the trade press and growers had a chance to see a few of our exciting new introductions,” said Carmolli. “We had many of them already forced in our greenhouse awaiting shipment to trade shows, so it seemed like a great opportunity to capture these varieties on video and highlight what makes them different and exciting.”

Some of the varieties include Invincibelle Garnetta, a later-blooming H. arborescens, Baby Kim, an improved version of ‘Miss Kim’ Syringa, and Ringo All-Star, the second in the Ringo series of roses. The Ringo All-Star features single flowers with a unique color blend of melon-orange and pink, that transitions to lavender, offering the same multi-colored effect as its predecessor.

Growers can contact the Spring Meadow sales team to request the 2019-2020 catalog, or view it online. The catalog includes a quick reference to all 11new shrub introductions on pages 20-21. Those interested in carrying these new varieties, or adding them to their spring order, should contact the account manager for their region.
