Rocket Farms has introduced a new culinary winter herb program that will make fresh culinary potted herbs available to consumers year-round. Winter herbs will ship November through March, where after spring/summer culinary herbs will become available. The new program was developed to address the fact that the desire for fresh cooking and the use of herbs remains strong throughout the winter months, despite outdoor weather that is no longer appropriate for growing.
Culinary Winter Herbs include the 1 gallon basil and 4-inch mini-potted varieties of rosemary, sage, parsley and thyme. They offer culinary inspiration, being on hand for extra flavor whenever you need them. Potted herbs also provide freshness to meals throughout the winter months and help save money by providing fresh herbs that last.
Rocket Farms is one of the country’s largest greenhouse growers, offering both conventional and certified organic potted herbs in a variety of arrangements, including individually potted herbs and combo gardens in decorative containers for the inspired consumer. In addition to potted herbs, Rocket Farms offers other potted edibles, including potted blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, pomegranates, edible peppers and tomatoes.
Rocket Farms’ culinary herb program, combined with the new Winter Herbs program, bridges the gap between produce and floral departments. The recent acquisition of Herb Thyme by Rocket Farms’ parent company, Monterey Peninsula Horticulture, will further complement Rocket Farms’ existing herb portfolio in the months to come. Potted winter culinary herbs are available at retailers across the country, such as Safeway and Trader Joes, among others.
