Proven Winners has partnered with The Plant Company for its new line of houseplants — leafjoy. Responding to the increasing interest in indoor growing, the plant brand company created three separate options for retailers: premium, available to the big-box stores, boutique, exclusive to independent garden centers, and collector’s edition, which is comprised of rare plants and also only available to IGCs.
“We wanted garden centers to have something unique the big-box store doesn’t have,” said Jeanine Standard, media and public relations coordinator.
And since new houseplant customers sometimes struggle to find the best spots for plants in their living spaces, the leafjoy line comes in four collections: Atrium, Cocoon, SpaScene and WorkLife. The line also includes hydroponic options in H2O Minis and H2O Bowls. They require virtually no care and can be grown almost anywhere. H2O Minis and H2O Bowls are sold as assortments.
To make ordering easier for smaller retailers, garden centers can mix and match sizes and minis with no need to fill an entire truck. Leafjoy plants are available in 12 cm, 17 cm and 21 cm containers, with upgraded drop-in decorative containers available for an additional charge. The minimum order size is one pallet, with the ability to mix and match the variety mix.
All leafjoy plants are backed by Proven Winners’ marketing, including multiple styles of pots, premium labels and supporting POP. The website even has a dropdown for customer questions, which are sent directly to a horticulture expert.
Leafjoy plants are shipped out of The Plant Company’s facilities in Virginia, where 85% are grown from tissue culture.
