LM Farms, LLC d/b/a Gardens Alive! Farms is seeking a buyer for its wholesale nurseries located in Cornelius, Oregon; Sims, North Carolina; Smithville, Tennessee and Grand Haven Michigan and will be conducting a public auction sale of both its equipment and live plant inventory if a buyer is not found. With each site fully staffed and operational until August 3, this is an opportunity for a buyer in the space to acquire the operations in their entirety, or an individual site, to add to their portfolio.
Formerly known as Zelenka Farms, Gardens Alive! is one of the nation’s largest wholesale growers and distributors of container grown shrubs, trees, perennials, roses and ground covers. Zelenka Farms was founded in 1993 under the name Berry Family of Nurseries. LM Farms, LLC acquired Zelenka Farms out of Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2016.
Gardens Alive! produces approximately 5,000 stock items (distinct container grown plants), which are grown in multiple climates, to serve big box retailers coast to coast, including Lowe’s, Kmart, ShopKo, Rural King, Home Depot and Meijer. The company distributes its products directly to retail stores and handles complex inventory and distribution logistics on its own for its customers.
Maynards Industries in conjunction with Industrial Assets Corp. and Miedema Auctioneering have been engaged to help facilitate a sale of the business and its assets. If a going concern buyer does not step forward, a succession of auction sales will take place to liquidate the assets of the business.
