As President of Homestead Gardens, Brian has expanded the company to one of the top 30 Independent Garden Centers (IGCs) in the country. Homestead’s key focus is quality products, exceptional service, and source for expert advice and learning opportunities for our customers. Operations include a total of three locations, over 250 employees, and year-round services for customers including: Wholesale department - nursery stock, supplies and rental equipment, Landscaping - design and installation services plus holiday lighting, Farm and Pet department- feed and bedding, Modern Homesteading state-of-the-art indoor gardening, and more. Instrumental in the development of the IT network systems throughout the company. As part of the family business from the beginning, possesses first-hand knowledge of every aspect of the operations.

Sam Kirkland is a retail thought-leader with 36+ years of experience developing and growing strong partnerships and programs to drive mutually beneficial business results. He has decades of experience working with companies in lawn & garden, LBM, hardware home centers, farm/ranch and sporting goods industries. Sam joined Epicor Software (then Triad Systems) in 1984 holding various roles, but all focused on helping our customers. He lives in Wisconsin and enjoys biking, hiking, and hiding stuff in his beard.
