Director of Ecologel Solutions participates in mission trip

The Catholic Heart Workcamp provides teens with service work and learning opportunities.

OCALA, Fla. (July 26, 2018) — Arborjet Inc., a plant health care company, has a history of promoting philanthropic charities and educational initiatives. Most recently, Jim Spindler, director of agronomy at Ecologel Solutions (a company in which Arborjet Inc. owns a majority interest), participated in his 13th mission trip for Catholic Heart Workcamp (CHWC), which provides teens with opportunities for service work and learning across the U.S. and in several foreign countries.

“It is work that we are most proud, and we comment our employees for their philanthropic efforts,” Russ Davis, Arborjet COO, says, about the philanthropic work the company does.

The camp was founded in Orlando in 1993 with 100 participants and has grown to over 13,000 in 2018. CHWC provides teens and adult leaders service opportunities, such as building homes, feeding the hungry and partnering with local social agencies to assist the needy, the elderly and the disabled.

Spindler escorted and worked with a team of high school teens from California, Boston and Florida to assist in this effort out of Melbourne, FL. They worked with an organization called the Community of Hope that helps provide stable housing for families in danger of homelessness. His group also joined another team to help the Daily Bread, an organization that assists the homeless and hungry.

“This is work that I am extremely proud of, because it allows me to help teens learn the value of service, while helping those in need,” Spindler says. “It gives me great personal satisfaction to know that the companies I work for, Ecologel Solutions and Arborjet, both value and fully support this important philanthropic effort.”
