Digging In Association, a professional organization for container garden designers, announced the winners of the inaugural Platinum Trowel Awards that were held during the organization's winter conference in Dallas in February.
The event celebrated achievements and contributions to the container gardening industry, recognizing individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment and leadership in the field.
Kristina May, Oxford Garden Company, Oxford Mississippi, was the recipient of the Sprout Award, which "honors a member whose fresh perspective, energy and contribution have already started creating inspiration and positivity within the community. This award recognizes someone who is just beginning their journey with us as a member and/or in the industry but is already leaving their mark."
Jenna Bush, Bella Porch Pots, Detroit, Michigan, received the Ripple Effect Award, which "recognizes a member whose warmth, positivity and ability to connect with others has consistently created a ripple effect of inspiration and encouragement throughout the association."
Howard Nemeroff, Plant Parenting, Chicago Illinois, received the Deep Roots Award, which "honors a longstanding member that has had a deep impact shaping and strengthening our industry and community."
"We are thrilled to celebrate our members, and we are excited that this annual event will set a new standard for excellence within our community," said Digging In Association Executive Director Andrea Gasper. "The Platinum Trowel Awards aim to honor excellence and inspire the continued advancement for professionals in the container gardening industry."
The winter conference in Dallas was the largest event to date for the association, with 52 container gardening professionals attending from across the U.S. and Canada. Founded in 2017, Digging In supports more than 230 members across the U.S. and Canada.
