Dallas – Dallas Market Center, in partnership with Aidan Gray, proudly announces a personal appearance and book signing with Oscar-winning actress, director and author Diane Keaton during its upcoming January Total Home & Gift Market (Jan. 17-23, 2018). On Thursday, Jan. 18, Keaton will discuss home and design in association with her new book, "The House That Pinterest Built" (Rizzoli, 2017). The presentation will take place at 1 p.m. in the atrium of the World Trade Center.
Immediately following, a book signing will take place at 2:30 p.m. in the Aidan Gray showroom, WTC 10009. Copies of "The House That Pinterest Built" will be available for purchase in the showroom.
“Diane Keaton’s personal style and legendary skills as an actress are matched by a keen design eye,” says Cindy Morris, Dallas Market Center president and CEO. “We are thrilled to welcome her to Dallas and to hear about her inspiring journey to create a home reflecting her imagination and unique attention to detail. I encourage everyone to make plans to listen, to learn, and to be inspired.”
The House That Pinterest Built, according to publisher Rizzoli, is “a style guide, an inspirational tome, and a how-to volume on creating one’s home.” The book “defines what home and house mean to the celebrated movie star, who is known for her love affair with houses and design. Filled with ideas that reveal a personal yet engaging aesthetic, this volume includes photos from Keaton’s past homes and those she admires, as well as a multitude of details from every corner of those spaces and objects that excite and inspire the house designer and dreamer.”
Says Diane Keaton: “If you want to explore. If you love to see. If you’re looking to look; this book is an example of a home made from the gifts of other people’s addictive yearnings for the perfect home, with the perfect landscape and the perfect interior. It illustrates my choices of your choices. Who knows, you might find one of your pins here. You might smile. You might shake your head and say, ‘This isn’t what I had in mind.’ You might think: ‘Hey that’s my kitchen. She copied my kitchen.’ But the truth is, as much as I tried, I could never entirely recreate the light filled photograph of a kitchen that led the way to the journey that brought me here. No one can.”
