Fancy fall flowers
Crimson Sun and White join Suntory's GRANVIA line, bringing the line to six colors total. The supersized strawflower has full, vigorous plants that are twice the size of a standard Bracteantha.
Grow in gallon pots or larger. Crop timing is 7-8 weeks with 1 ppp in 8-inch containers and 8-10 weeks with 3 ppp in 1-gallon containers.
GRANVIA grows to 18-30 inches high and 18-24 inches wide and works in spring, summer and autumn. They work well as season extenders. Crimson Sun, in particular, is a great fall alternative to mums, says Delilah Onofrey, marketing director.
Senetti’s silver anniversary
The Senetti pericallis series from Suntory Flowers has been dazzling the market for 25 years with its cool colors for the cool season. Senetti can withstand temperatures as low as 35⁰F, making them ideal for the early spring sales window. Senetti also offers consumers the chance to enjoy flowers a second time – when the first flush of flowers fades, cut back 50% and enjoy again with fresh blooms.
New colors include Red Halo and Lavender Dawn (pictured). One of its previous colors got a reboot with Blue Bicolor Improved. Delilah Onofrey, marketing director, says any grower who’s ever tried Blue Bicolor in the past “will appreciate this improved one.”
