American Rose Society names winners

Miniature Award of Excellence recipients revealed


Three miniature roses have received the American Rose Society's Miniature Award of Excellence, 2012.

 

Oso Happy Petit Pink has sprays of petite, bubble gum pink flowers and small green leaves. It was bred by David Zlesak of St. Paul, Minn., and it's available through Proven Winners ColorChoice. It's hardy to USDA Hardiness Zone 4.

Butter Me Up was hybridized by Christian Bédard and introduced by Weeks Roses. Flowers are butter-yellow and about 1 1/2 inches in diameter.

Ann Hooper is a Miniature with pink buds that open to ivory blooms with broad pink edges and 15 to 20 petals. It was hybridized by Tom Carruth and was introduced by Weeks Roses.
