2024 Top 100 Independent Garden Centers List submissions open

Submissions are now open for Garden Center magazine's 2024 Top 100 Independent Garden Centers List.

Companies interested in being included in the prestigious list can submit their information at gardencentermag.com/form/top-100-independent-garden-centers/ through June 7. The full list will be revealed in July, with special coverage on gardencentermag.com.

The Top 100 Independent Garden Centers List is based on sales volume as reported by independent garden centers. Companies on the 2023 Top 100 list earned a combined revenue of nearly $2 billion in 2022 and included businesses from 38 states and three Canadian provinces.

Garden Center magazine, which has published the list since 2011, has featured some of the most renowned and innovative IGCs, including major garden retailers Armstrong Garden Centers & Pike Nurseries in California, Georgia and North Carolina; Petitti Garden Centers in Ohio; Hicks Nurseries in New York; Greenland Garden Centre in Alberta, Canada; and SummerWinds Nursery in California and Arizona.

The submission process also gives IGCs a chance to highlight some of their biggest achievements of the past year. In 2023, companies reported a variety of initiatives, including sustainability efforts, house brands for plants, a wine bar, improved employee benefits and solar infrastructure. 

Garden Center magazine anticipates an active year of submissions. Last year, the Top 100 IGCs were picked from a field of 179 businesses, and more are expected to apply for the 2024 list.

Garden Center magazine’s 2024 Top 100 Independent Garden Centers List will be based on 2023 retail revenue as reported by garden centers in North America. All Canadian retail revenue numbers will be converted to USD using the 2023 average exchange rate, but Canadian IGCs should submit in USD.

Garden centers that report the same revenue will received the same ranking on the list. In order to maintain an accurate list, no estimations will be made.
