2023 CAST preview: Jaldety

Notable new varieties to be introduced at CAST 2023 by Jaldety:

Salvia Angel Wings provides a dreamy hybrid flower power with masses of big, early flowering, two-toned pink flowers on dark stems. It is free-flowering and blooms early and repeatedly for a long flowering period, from early spring until the first frost. It features a good uniform bushy habit with flexible stems. Easy to care for and is beneficial for butterflies, hummingbirds and bees. Use in big containers for patio and outdoor spaces, mix containers, water-wise garden planting, cottage and meadow gardens and beds. Hardy in U.S. zones 7-9. 

Salvia Cuello Cream Pink is an excellent Salvia hybrid flower. Good color with two-tone, cream and pink neck flowers on dark stems. The flower is free-flowering with a beautiful contrast between the dark calyx and its cream and pink flowers. Long flowering period, from early spring until the first frost. It has a good uniform bushy habit with flexible stems, is super low maintenance and attracts butterflies, hummingbirds and bees. For use in big containers for patio and decks, mix borders, water-wise garden planting, cottage and meadow gardens and beds. Hardy to U.S. zones 7-9.

Salvia Lemon Pie is a Salvia hybrid that’s flowering with beautiful soft lemony, big flowers. It’s free-flowering for a long flowering period, from early spring until the first frost. It features a uniform bushy habit with flexible stems. Easy to grow and care for in big containers for patio and decks. Mixes well with other bold colors. Can also be used in water-wise garden planting, cottage and meadow gardens and beds. The flowers attract bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Hardy to U.S. zones 7-9.

Salvia Lipstick is more than just a Salvia hybrid. This variety is a rich lipstick red with a white-marked throat and big flowers on dark stems. Free flowering, long flowering period, from early spring till the first frost. Flexible stems with a great uniform bushy habit. Easy to care for, creates great interest in pollinators like butterflies, bees and hummingbirds. Use in big containers for the outdoor spaces, borders with other salvias, water wise garden planting, cottage and meadow gardens and beds. Hardy to U.S. zones 7-9.

Salvia Pink Mulberry is a natural addition to Jaldety's Salvia range. Free flowering with masses of two-tone, dark fuchsia pink and white skirt flowers, dark calyx, on dark stems. Long flowering period, from early spring till the first frost. Great uniform bushy habit with flexible stems. Use in big containers for patio and decks, mix borders, water-wise garden planting, cottage and meadow gardens and beds. Low maintenance and beneficial for butterflies, hummingbirds and bees. Hardy to U.S. zones 7-9.

Setcreasea Green White Beauty is an attractive variegated, striped green and white patterned foliage. Great color effect for indoor and outdoor spaces, in hanging baskets and containers. Contrasting small ground covers, fillers, informal planting, beds, rock gardens. Low growing, dense, trailing habit. Heat and drought tolerant, easy to grow, low maintenance. Hardy to U.S. zones 8-11.

Setcreasea Zebrina is an old and colorful showy zebra patterned foliage. Striped purplish, green and silver leaves on dark stems. Great foliage power effect in house and garden spaces, in hanging baskets and boxes, big containers. Contrasting small ground covers, fillers, informal planting, beds, rock gardens, gently crawl over stones and other hardscape elements. Low growing. Heat and drought tolerant, easy to grow, low maintenance. U.S. Zones: 8 - 11.

Strobilanthes Purple Waffle is an evergreen perennial, grown for its unique foliage. Rich metallic purple- green tinted leaves with waffle-like texture. Grows easily and is low maintenance. Adds a colorful touch in the house, out in the garden and in any outdoor spaces. Perfect for hanging baskets and for small or big pots, for sunny spots indoors or partly shaded patios and decks. Good color impact as a small group planting in the garden. Low growing and dense habit. U.S. Zones: 8 - 11
