The fifth session of the Garden Center Fertile Ground Webinar Series discussed how garden center owners can prepare for the long-term futures of their businesses
What is Your End Game? Succession & Exit Planning Best Practices for the Green Industry — hosted by Chris Cimaglio with PivotPoint Business Solutions and BEST Human Capital & Advisory Group — explores preparation, planning options, value building and transitional strategies for horticulture industry businesses, especially highly owner-centralized companies.
You've worked hard to build a business, and much of your personal wealth and assets may be tied up in your business. But sustaining them over the long term requires strategic planning, whether transferring to a family successor or a third-party buyer.
Get ahead of ownership and leadership changes — with the tsunami of exits already occurring in the industry, only the best will sell. If you want the value of your business to grow and remain intact for your successors or achieve a higher selling price, begin the planning process sooner rather than later.
You can watch a recording of the session, from Sept. 10, 2024, above.
The free six-part series is guiding you through the biggest issues facing IGCs today, from digital marketing to human resources.
You’ll learn from industry experts and hear the stories behind their success as well as what they have learned from their mistakes. Not only will you find actionable ideas to implement at your garden center, but you’ll also find a collaborative community that will inspire you with ways to make your business the best it can be.
All sessions are free and will be held virtually via Zoom from 2 to 3 p.m. ET every Tuesday from Aug. 13 through Sept. 17. Attendees can register for one, a few or all six sessions.
