Across the horticulture industry, growers, wholesalers and retailers are aware that growing food organically in the comfort of one’s home is steadily gaining in popularity. Industry association statistics seem to corroborate this trend. In the Organic Trade Association’s 2017 Organic Industry Infographic, researchers charted an increase in demand for and production of organically-produced goods. As farmers are incentivized to further explore organic growing methods and consumers continue to seek these products out, this growing relevance of organics is reflected in the growing popularity of edibles and indoor gardening among IGC customers.
