Introducing The Hort Report Podcast

For some time now, Garden Center magazine has published podcasts under the Retailer Radio Network brand, while sister publications Nursery Management and Greenhouse Management magazines have done so via the Grower Radio Network. The two brands have now been merged, and we are excited to present The Hort Report Podcast. The podcast will include engaging interviews with people working in all segments of the horticulture industry. For the first official Hort Report Podcast, Karen E. Varga, editor of Greenhouse Management, spoke with Matt Mart, marketing and sales manager for North America with Benary, regarding the new Benary+ program, a new option for the purchase of Benary and Volmary seed cuttings.

What’s trending on Instagram

The annual California Spring Trials is a chance to get acquainted with a wealth of new plant varieties coming onto the market, but the event also offers many new perspectives and ideas when it comes to plant marketing and merchandising. While in California for this year’s trials, we spotted a few above-and-beyond displays using succulents and incorporating hammocks, volcanos, grills and other themes that were too good not to share with our Instagram followers.

Your Turn

Each month, we ask readers a different question about their retail operations, inviting them to answer via email or social media. You can send your answers to assistant editor Conner Howard at choward@gie.net.

THIS MONTH’S QUESTION:

“How were your Mother’s Day sales this year? Were they better than, worse than, or similar to last year’s?”

Answers to this question will be published in a future issue of Garden Center.
