UPDATE: President of Sloat Garden Center explains Navlet's purchase
Pleasant Hill, Calif., Jan. 19 - Locally owned Navlet's Garden Centers will soon pass the gardening torch to another locally owned company, Sloat Garden Center, early this spring, according to a press release.
In February 2016, Sloat Garden Center, which has nine stores in San Francisco, Marin, and Contra Costa Counties, will combine with Navlet's four East Bay locations. Together they will continue to offer Bay Area gardeners the horticultural expertise from two companies with a combined history of almost two hundred years in the San Francisco Bay Area.
“Once we get there, I think it’s going to be a really good transition," said Dave Stoner, president of Sloat Garden Center. "I think we can offer the Navlet’s customers just a little bit more.”

“We are proud to continue the tradition of expert gardening know-how from Navlet’s Garden Centers,” Stoner said in a press release. “Both Sloat and Navlet’s were built through a passion for gardening, a commitment to community, a responsibility for sustainable gardening, and a desire to offer the highest quality plants and products. We are excited to continue serving the Bay Area gardening community for years to come, and we look forward to joining Navlet’s knowledgeable and committed team with the Sloat family.”
