Since 1975, the Davidson family began creating the authentic and original buoy bells echoing the actual buoy bells, on the ocean waters, mighty rivers and great lakes. Jim Davidson worked as a lobsterman, spending countless hours on the water listening to the pounding surf and constant warning of the buoy bells. He wanted to bring that sound for the many sea lovers to enjoy at their homes! Now after years and a lot of “blood, sweat and tears,” the original and authentic wind bells continue to be selling strong! Each Buoy Bell is named for the stunning landmarks on our country’s coastlines. All North Country Wind Bells® are legally protected with intellectual property rights, trademarks and trade dress.
Now twenty years later, Jim's daughter Connie, with Paul and their loyal crew, have continued on the family’s fine tradition of creative designs, sounds and quality. North Country Wind Bells® now offers 6 Unique Wind Bell Collections with over 61 beautiful Wind Bell Melodies and offers over 100 Interchangeable windcatcher options to personalize any bell with a nautical, woodland, holiday, spiritual or whimsical theme to fit any storefront!
Each wind bell is carefully constructed with recycled steel and then powder coated in their extensive workshop on the family compound found on the rugged Pemaquid Peninsula of Maine. These special wind bells are then neatly tagged and tucked into a recyclable box. This distinctive box was designed by Paul and is made by another family company in Maine too! North Country Wind Bells® is a proud “green company.” Their passion and creativity is derived by living in the austere beauty of coastline and deep forests with the desire to protect it.
“Haunting Sounds and Magic Memories®” echo beautiful melodies for any garden setting! With the variety of windcatcher designs to hang at the bottom of the bell, retailers offer seasonal designs so the bell has a new look over each season! These wind bells also make the perfect gift, year around, “as with every gentle wind, the recipient will have a lovely reminder of you!”
