From Cultivate’18 to you

Cultivate, AmericanHort’s annual trade show in Columbus, Ohio, is a veritable buffet of people to learn from and connect with, products to discover and events to attend. The GIE Media Horticulture Group made the most of this year’s show, producing videos covering bus tours, keynote addresses, new varieties and much more. What's trending on social media

Facebook July’s cover story introduced readers to The Sill, a plant retailer with two locations in New York City and a robust e-commerce presence. Eliza Blank, founder of The Sill, shared her thoughts on communicating the value of plants by “inspiring the next generation of plant parents.” The issue also focused on the broader topic of the valuation of plants and garden products, including conversations on plant pricing, outside industry perspectives and more. Announcing the digital edition of the July issue on Facebook was well-received by Garden Center followers.

Your Turn

Each month, we ask readers a different question about their retail operations, inviting them to answer via email or social media. You can send your answers to associate editor Conner Howard at choward@gie.net.

THIS MONTH’S QUESTION:

“Do you have a specific succession plan in place? If so, what is it?”

Answers to this question will be published in a future issue of Garden Center.
