A quote To Note (& Share!) “Why try to explain miracles to your kids when you can just have them plant a garden?” – Writer Robert Brault |
Roses are read . . .
David Austin Roses has just released its 2011 Wholesale catalog, which can be obtained by calling (903) 526-1807.
Debbie Remblence, vice president of sales in North America, urges garden centers to contact the company soon, however, as some varieties are available on a limited basis.
Two sites to behold
One of the biggest “buzz creators” at the OFA Short Course this summer came from the John Henry Company booth, where the plant marketing specialists were touting their new “Super Site,” www.BloomIQ.com.
BloomIQ.com is a revolutionary new Internet resource for novice and experienced gardeners looking for inspiration and practical gardening information. Developed by gardening experts, the site has a design-collections link that features a selection of popular gardening themes based on color palettes, light conditions, wildlife and more. The site also highlights individual plants that offer new and exciting garden possibilities. Gardeners looking for specific plants can search for useful care information and ideas for companion plants.
In addition to the website, BloomIQ.com is available as a full merchandising program from the John Henry Company. The program includes branded tags with a website address and 2D barcodes that link the tag to the BloomIQ.com website. Tags can be customized with plant photos and combination plant suggestions using Image Ease design templates, John Henry's online 24/7 ordering system.
Meanwhile, in another sector of the industry, there’s a new sheriff in Flowerbulb Town – or, at least, a new resident that’s bound to make some interesting noise. Landscape Flower Bulbs has launched a wholesale business, and a requisite website, www.LandscapeFlowerBulbs.com, that has been crafted to offer a unique, Internet-based approach to ordering bulbs. This strategy centers on the state-of-the-art Web element, which has a variety of features that make selection and purchase simple for wholesale clients. Features include an automatic calculator for quick quantity estimates, and a search feature, which allows selection by category, bloom time or color.
