Costa Farms Trial Gardens in Miami, Fla., is known for its beautiful displays of the latest and yet-to-be-introduced varieties, showcased in the landscape, garden beds, hanging baskets and containers. 2017 Tropical Plant Industry Exhibition attendees visited the trial gardens during a TPIE-organized tour, and we spotted ideas for retailers and consumers to create pretty, fun and functional containers to display plants. The row of DIY inspiration was called “Pinworthy Projects,” and provided 12 easy-to-follow instructions to design and dress-up several containers, including an address marker, a rustic bark-covered terra cotta pot and a metallic pot, perfect for holiday plantings. These projects can be shared with customers to complete at home or used to develop in-store workshops.
