WILISTON, Vt. -- After a winter of record low temperatures across the country, it's time to kick off the change in season with a celebration of spring. Vermont-based nonprofit, KidsGardening.org, is raising awareness of the importance of garden education in communities across the U.S. this April through their National Garden Month campaign.
″We're taking National Garden Month to a whole new level this year. We're passionate about making the many benefits of gardening available to all and are excited to engage the entire gardening community,″ said KidsGardening.org Chief Operating Officer, Jennifer Tedeschi.
KidsGardening.org is a resource of the National Gardening Association, a national 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. KidsGardening.org provides free gardening and educational resources to educators, families, and home and community gardeners of all ages. Starting April 1, their National Garden Month website will feature new, weekly content and resources that highlight the following themes:
• Week 1: School Gardening
• Week 2: Home & Family Gardening
• Week 3: Environmental Stewardship
• Week 4: Health & Nutrition
In addition to weekly, themed content, National Garden Month will feature multiple contests and giveaways on social media.
″There has been an outpouring of support from our sponsors, who believe in our mission and wanted to be a part of this campaign,″ noted Tedeschi. ″Thanks to their support, we're able to provide some fantastic prizes to gardeners young and old -- just in time for spring!″
There will be a prize package giveaway each week on KidsGardening.org's Facebook page during the month of April. Sponsors include Evergreen Packaging, High Mowing Organic Seeds, Bonnie Plants, Neptune's Harvest, Ames, DR, Vermont Organics Reclamation, Proven Winners, Angie's BoomChickapop, and Jamba Juice.
