Featuring: Bailey Nurseries, Cultivaris, and branded plant collections Encore, Southern Living Plant Collection and Sunset Western Garden Collection. New this year, we are happy to welcome HMA Plants.
New Varieties:
Echibeckia Summerina Butterscotch Biscuit from Pacific Plug & Liner has bold butter yellow and orange two-toned flowers with a light-colored eye, making this variety the brightest in the series. Flowers are giant-sized, getting upwards of 6 inches in diameter, making Butterscotch Biscuit the largest flower size in the series. This variety runs on the more aggressive side and is best suited for larger containers such as 1.5 to 2 gallon and large deco containers. The bloom time for Butterscotch Biscuit is late, so it is great for late summer to fall season sales, and will be available for the 2017 summer to fall retail season. USDA Zones 7 to 9, with a week 20 to 30 planting window.
A stunning grandiflora type coreopsis with great cold hardiness, Coreopsis Solar Dance from Cultivaris surpasses many varieties currently on the market. Solar Dance is compact at 16 to 20 inches tall with an upright habit and loaded with bloom power from late spring through fall. Flowers are semi-double and bright lemon-yellow in color. Solar Dance will attract bees and butterflies into the garden and has great drought tolerance once established. Hardy in USDA Zones 5 to 8 and is best suited for 2.5 quart to 2 gallon containers. Solar Dance will be available at retail in the 2018 spring/summer retail season.
A true genetic dwarf, First Editions Blue Puffball Vitex (Vitex agnus-castus ‘PIIVAC-II’) from Bailey Nurseries forms a perfect ball-shaped plant with short internodes and thick foliage. Mid-green foliage is clean into fall with minimal to no leaf spot. Deep blue, fragrant flowers bloom from June through September. Flowers form on new growth.
Ceanothus griseus horizontalis Highlights California Lilac from Sunset Western Garden Collection is a vigorous California native selection with glossy deep green and chartreuse edged leaves. Low-growing groundcover or edging plant with pale blue flowers in spring and summer. Hardy to USDA Zones 8b to 10.
Coppertop Sweet Viburnum (Viburnum odoratissimum ‘Brant 01’) from the Southern Living Plant Collection is a tough evergreen shrub that features new growth of bronze copper pink, which matures to a glossy dark green. Fragrant white clusters of blooms appear in spring, followed by red berries that ripen in fall. Mature size is 6 to 10 feet tall by 5 to 6 feet wide. Hardy to USDA Zones 8 to 10.
A fast-growing dwarf azalea, the new Encore Azalea Autumn Bonfire Rhododendron ‘Robleza’ glows with numerous, true red, semi-double and single blooms in spring, summer and fall. Autumn Bonfire holds its bright green foliage year-round, and grows to an average of 3 feet high by 3.5 feet wide. USDA Zones 6A to 9.
