HRI accepting research grant proposals

Applications for fiscal year 2017 funding from the Horticultural Research Institute are due May 31.


The Horticultural Research Institute is actively seeking research proposals for projects that will produce new knowledge and lead to applied advice for the horticultural industry.

Researchers are encouraged to submit proposals for research in the areas of horticultural marketing and consumer purchasing practices, pest and disease management and control, and sustainable production and environmental resource management. Additional guidelines and information can be found on the Horticultural Research Institute website.

The HRI application is due on May 31, 2016 and must be received by 11:59 p.m. Completed proposals must be submitted using HRI's online application process. No hard copies or emailed applications will be accepted. 

Applications submitted after May 31, 2016 will not be accepted. An application is considered submitted and finalized when the applicant submits the propsal by clicking the "submit" button.

HRI is funded by horticultural businesses, organizations, and individuals that make their living in, or in service to, horticulture. Over the last three years, HRI has directed more than a million dollars to research covering the full range of production, environmental, and business issues critical to ongoing industry success.
