Calloway's Nursery's Greenville Avenue location in Dallas was named "Best Garden Shop" in D Magazine's Best of Big D Readers' Choice Poll. In the August issue, it was reported that readers of the Dallas-based magazine tabbed the store, one of 17 in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex under the Calloway's umbrella, as their favorite garden center destination.
This is the first year that D Magazine conducted the Best of Big D Readers’ Choice Poll. Tens of thousands of readers cast their votes for Calloway’s Nursery's Greenville Avenue store.
“We are absolutely thrilled to accept this award," said Kimberly Bird, Calloway's vice president of retail marketing. "Calloway’s Nursery prides itself on offering premium plants to gardeners in the Dallas area, and we are delighted to receive this honor in its inaugural year.”
The winning store is located at 7410 N. Greenville Ave. in Dallas. Calloway's has its corporate headquarters in Fort Worth. In addition to the 17 DFW stores, there are two garden centers in the chain that go by the name Cornelius Nursery in Houston. Calloway's Nursery was named an Innovator Award winner in 2009 by Garden Center magazine.
Bird said the company strives to make gardening fun, easy and successful for customers by offering expert advice from Texas Certified Nursery Professionals, as well as creating store environments that are educational and easy to shop. Calloway's stores host weekly gardening clinics that serve both novice and expert gardeners, and the chain's staff is trained to craft displays and instructions to aid gardeners with design and color development in their yards.
