A New Leaf’s retail garden center in Tulsa, Okla., was ransacked by vandals June 2, leaving the nonprofit with about $25,000 in product damages, according to a report by Tulsa World.
CEO Mary Ogle said one-third of the seasonal revenue for A New Leaf, a nonprofit that provides individuals with developmental disabilities with life and job skill training through horticultural therapy, was lost in the damages. The product loss would account for about $40,000 in retail losses, she said.
The nonprofit depends on its garden center sales to support the programs it offers to adults with disabilities, Ogle said.
